Something remarkable happened over the past ten weeks. Six young women, each carrying with them unique journeys and hard-won resilience, walked into a programme and came out the other side as tech professionals. Today, we’re celebrating their achievement.
What Is Get Into Tech?
Get Into Tech is a 10-week employment programme run by The King’s Trust Australia, and Rise By Talent designed specifically for young women from migrant and refugee backgrounds who are ready to step into Australia’s fast-growing technology sector. The programme was built on a simple but powerful belief: that your potential, not your barriers, should define your future.
Six Graduates. Six Stories Worth Telling.
We are excited to announce that six participants have successfully completed the Get Into Tech programme. These women came in with talent, drive, and a willingness to back themselves and the programme gave them the tools, credentials, and connections to turn that into a career. They navigated new technical concepts, stepped outside their comfort zones and showed up every single week with commitment and curiosity. To our six newest graduates: you’ve done something you should be proud!
Why This Matters
Women remain underrepresented in Australian tech and women from migrant and refugee backgrounds face even steeper barriers. Get Into Tech exists to change that, not just for the individuals who go through it, but for an industry that’s stronger when it reflects the communities it serves. Six more certified, work-ready women is six steps in the right direction.
What Comes Next
Graduating from Get Into Tech is a beginning, not an ending. Our team continues to work with graduates to connect them with employers, explore opportunities, and navigate the next steps in their careers.
