Right now, only 8% of small business owners in Australia are under 30 — and that number is shrinking (ABSFEO, June 2023). We think that needs to change.
That’s why The King’s Trust Australia is launching a new national programme in 2026, designed with young people, to help you explore, start, and grow your own business.
You don’t need a perfect idea. You don’t need experience. You just need curiosity and motivation.
What’s the programme about?
This programme gives you the space, support, and confidence to turn your ideas into action — with expert guidance, mentors who get it, and a community of other young people on the same journey.
You’ll get:
• Practical business learning (no boring lectures)
• Support from coaches and mentors
• Peer circles to share ideas and build confidence
• Opportunities to access funding
• A safe, inclusive space where you can be yourself
Who can apply?
We support young people aged 18–35 from all walks of life, using trauma-informed and culturally safe practices.
We especially welcome young people from:
• Metro, regional, and rural communities
