Tanya

During her work placement, Tanya impressed her employer so much that she was offered a full-time role. Since completing the programme, she has progressed from Software Developer to Solutions Architect, building a successful career while continuing to support other young women entering the industry.

Her success has been recognised by both mentors and clients. Following her placement, her work experience mentor shared that, “Tanya’s enthusiasm, passion, potential, and current capability shone through. I have always lived by the idea that skills can be trained but attitude is what makes or breaks a person’s future. Tanya has both the right skills and the right attitude to shine.”

More recently, the director of a client organisation wrote unprompted to her manager to highlight the impact Tanya had made on a project. “Tanya brought an infectious level of enthusiasm, energy and genuine curiosity to the project,” the director shared. “She was engaging, approachable and, importantly, made people feel comfortable to contribute openly and honestly… Rather than presenting us with a technology solution, Tanya helped articulate a practical and planned pathway forward that connected the technology with our people, processes and business needs.”

Reflecting on her journey, Tanya said, “The skills and confidence I developed through Get Into Tech have helped me build a foundation for that future, rather than preparing me for just one particular job.”
