Success Story
Get Into Tech
Tanya joined Get Into Tech as part of her journey to begin a career in the tech industry. “Being a young woman in tech is tough,” she said. “I needed that kind of support system.” The programme’s holistic approach – combining technical skills with personal development – was exactly what she was looking for.
Tanya’s most transformative moment came during her portfolio presentation. “I decided to build a website as my portfolio, and that process really got me thinking about who I want to be, what areas of tech I want to explore, and how I can apply my skills to projects that support both professional and personal growth.” Her goal was to connect with the audience not just as a developer, but as someone passionate about ethical tech and community impact.
Before the programme, Tanya struggled with perfectionism. “I felt like I had to be great at everything before I could even start,” she admitted. “Now, I’m much more willing to take a risk. I’ve learned that it’s okay to launch something even if I only feel 6 out of 10 ready.”
Tanya is now working toward becoming a Solutions Architect, with plans to keep evolving and eventually mentor others. “Three years ago, I graduated from high school overseas with no idea where my life would go. Now, I’m in Australia surrounded by amazing, intelligent, kind people who see potential in me.”
Her story reflects the transformative power of programmes like Get Into Tech – helping young women embrace growth, take bold steps, and shape their futures with confidence.
