Safeguarding

our safeguarding framework

Safeguarding is the systematic process of ensuring our culture, policies and practices are embedded in our work to protect people from harm, including abuse, neglect, or exploitation. It is the process of designing and cultivating a practice of demonstrating and committing to a safe place for reporting, responding to and managing concerns reported and the welfare of our beneficiaries, their families, third-party delivery partners and our workers.

The King’s Trust Australia recognises that all people we interact with and, in particular, vulnerable people, have equal rights to protection from abuse, neglect, or exploitation regardless of their age, gender, race, religious beliefs, disability, sexual orientation, or family or social background..

The King’s Trust Australia values and will respond promptly and constructively to all information presented by workers or third parties regarding the safety and welfare of all people we interact with, including vulnerable people. We believe that working in partnership with other agencies is key to promoting the welfare of vulnerable people.

We commit to:

  • Protecting all people that interact with, or are affected by, The King’s Trust Australia
  • Working to ensure all workers report any incident to the relevant The King’s Trust Australia person when it is reasonable to suspect that a person’s safety or welfare is at risk.
  • All safeguarding concerns raised will be appropriately and effectively managed. a survivor-centric approach and observing all relevant laws relating to safeguarding.
  • Providing support for workers to uphold the policy, including appropriate training and instruction on safeguarding best practice in proportion to the operations of The King’s Trust Australia.
  • A copy of The Trust’s safeguarding policy, including incident assessment standards, is available upon request.
