This Christmas, support your own and buy gifts from veteran community-owned businesses!
This Christmas, Prince's Trust Australia is celebrating with APOD (Australian Partners of Defence) the magic of Christmas with the Australian defence community by showcasing alumni veteran, ADF and partner owned businesses as part of APOD's special Christmas campaign.
With over 98,000 Australian Defence Force/Veterans already receiving the benefit of APOD membership, it’s a Christmas gift for both members and the alumni businesses of Prince's Trust Enterprise programme.
APOD’s CEO Paul Broadbridge is enthusiastic about promoting as many veteran community owned businesses as possible through their website, as they want to support these amazing entrepreneurs.
“APOD currently promotes over 390 businesses owned by current and former serving ADF members and their spouses,” he said.
“Businesses featured provide really meaningful Christmas gift ideas, including Indira Organic skin care range designed by RAAF veteran Cherie-Ann Boughouts, customised timber art made by army veteran Matt Lewis of MxM, or boutique drinks, Hop and Clover, by Navy veteran David and his wife Shiree.”
These businesses are alumni of Prince’s Trust Australia’s free entrepreneurial programme, designed for veterans and military spouses setting up a small business.
Prince’s Trust Australia CEO Michelle Endacott applauds APOD’s Christmas initiative, stating such campaigns as an important next step for their alumni.
“Prince’s Trust is proud to partner with organisations like APOD who support the community in so many ways,” she said.
“Firstly, they provide incredible free marketing opportunities for our alumni businesses to build their client and customer base.
“Secondly, they connect ADF and veteran families with the opportunity to support their own and buy from a veteran community owned business. Both are essential ingredients for the ecology of our veteran business landscape”.
