Strokes Bay Community Hall, Kangaroo Island opens after Black Summer fires
As over 250 locals and visitors sang Advance Australia Fair, the Stokes Bay Community Hall Committee proudly declared their new hall open today.
After the hall was devastated during the Black Summer Bushfires, the community partnered with the Prince's Trust Australia, which is becoming King’s Trust Australia, to rebuild the hall for generations to come.
Community Committee Chair Madelyn Kelly and Secretary Kate Stanton shared heartfelt stories about what being back in the 63-year-old hall meant to them, while Prince’s Trust Australia chair the Hon Julie Bishop praised the community for their resilience, and trustee Dominic Richards delivered a message of congratulations from His Majesty The King. We thank all our supporters and donors for their invaluable support in making this project a reality.
