The Business of the Year Award is selected from the four category winners at the Beyond Service Awards, with Ryan and Darren having won the New Mission Award. Sponsored by Saab Australia, this award recognises the best application of skills, experience, and networks developed in service and applied to a civilian business.

“Darren and I left the Navy with one mission: to provide high-performing vessels to those who continue to serve.”

Leveraging their operational experience, Ryan and Darren reimagined the vessel from the ground up. Their persistence paid off, as they recently inked a $40 million deal with the US Marine Corps.

Reflecting on the recognition, Ryan said, “What’s really important to us is proving that it’s possible to find a new mission beyond service.”

“When you’re growing a business, your head’s often down, and you forget to look up and realise the impact of what you’re doing.”

“We continue to serve those who serve, and for that, we are proud and grateful for this recognition”.
