First-time entrepreneur and founder of Veterans Psychology Nadia Teong has been announced the winner of the inaugural Prince’s Trust Australia Enterprise Accelerate Award.

The Award was open to participants from the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Accelerator Programme who submitted a two-minute video presentation pitching their business.

Nadia launched Veterans Psychology in 2021 after serving as a senior psychologist in the ADF for eleven years. She wanted to address the challenges many veterans face navigating the mental health system and getting access to quality care.

'Finding a psychologist that is available, accepts DVA cards and most importantly understands the veteran experience can be near impossible.' She said.

The clinic now has seven registered psychologists on the books and offers face-to-face consultations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Townsville, with telehealth available Australia wide.

Veterans Psychology is Nadia’s first entrepreneurial venture. ‘While I’m a confident clinical psychologist, I am a newbie when it comes to small business - so I need a team of advisors to help with the parts where I lack understanding and experience’ she said.

'Attending the Enterprise Accelerator programme run by the Prince’s Trust was another way for me to add to this network of support and knowledge, which is so crucial for Veterans Psychology’s success.'
