Stokes Bay Community Hall

The Prince’s Trust Australia worked with the community of Stokes Bay in Kangaroo Island to assist in the rebuild of the Stokes Bay Community Hall, which was severely damaged during the 2019/20 bushfires.

The Stokes Bay Community Hall was a central place in the life of the community; a place where they could gather for celebrations, church services, sports tournaments and Christmas shows.

First established in 1960, a large proportion of its structure, the original school hall and the recently completed kitchen extension were lost to the fires.

Through design services, community consultations, project management and fundraising, the Prince’s Trust Australia assisted the community at Stokes Bay to ensure that the new hall could be rebuilt as a place for the community to gather again; both today and for generations to come.

The rebuilt hall was formally reopened on Saturday 25 November 2023.
