Kathlene Sheen, an Air Force veteran, defence partner, and solopreneur, has been awarded the 2024 Enterprise Accelerate Award. This recognition honours individuals who have developed their businesses through The King’s Trust Australia’s Enterprise Accelerator programme.

Kath launched her business, Sorted by Kath, in 2020,successfully transitioning it from a side hustle to a full-time operation within just 12 weeks. Her background as an ex-serving member, current defence partner, and daughter of a veteran provides her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by her clients in the defence community.

Reflecting on this achievement, Kathlene shared, “Receiving the King’s Trust Australia Program Award is a true honour and a reflection of my dedication to my business and the Defence community. This recognition highlights the passion and commitment I bring to supporting Defence personnel, and I am excited about the potential to further develop my business.”

Kath’s achievements include winning the City of Ipswich 2022 Business Excellence Award for Customer Service and being a finalist in the 2023 Beyond Service Awards, and 2023 City of Ipswich Business Excellence Award for Customer Service.

As a resume specialist and career coach, she has worked with over 750 clients worldwide. Sorted by Kath offers tailored one-on-one services to defence partners and transitioning members at no cost through her partnerships with RSLQLD and the Department of Defence. In 2021, she also launched a job-seeking network for female job seekers to enhance their self-worth and job prospects.

Kathlene’s experience in the Enterprise Accelerator Programme provided invaluable guidance, including “unparalleled networking opportunities and valuable insights from fellow Defence business owners at various stages of their entrepreneurial journey.”
