Drew Paten is the co-founder of Talwali Coffee Roasters, a First Nations led coffee roasting company with a commitment to sustainability and Country. Talwali, meaning "clan relations between neighboring clans," embodies the spirit of kinship and collaboration that Talwali Coffee Roasters was founded upon. This innovative coffee company is the brainchild of some good humans from the thriving cultures of Aboriginal Australia, specifically from Gunai/Kurnai, Ngarrindjeri, and Taungurung Countries.
Drew, the Director of Strategy, embarked on his first entrepreneurial venture with Talwali Coffee. He previously served at the Co-Chief Executive Officer at AIME Mentoring, focusing on bridging the gap between the most marginalized young people in Australia and those in power to address educational inequity.
Drew currently serves as the Community Development Manager at The Koori Youth Council and is passionate about amplifying youth voices and ensuring young people are represented in decision-making.
