After graduating with a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Alistair began his professional career with a six-year stint as a captain in the British army. Alistair served as an armoured formation reconnaissance troop leader in Iraq and was awarded a GOC’s commendation for service. Alistair traveled widely during his service, including representing the regimental Nordic ski team in Austria, training army recruits in Harrogate, and undertaking jungle warfare training in Belize.
After separating from the service, Alistair forged a long and successful career in financial services, culminating in his current position as Vice President of Capital & Partner Solutions at Vista Equity Partners. During this time, Alistar also made a name for himself as a security and defence commentator in the UK and successfully ran two small businesses.
From 2015 – 2017 Alistar held the position of Visiting Lecturer in Global Entrepreneurship, at the University of Sunderland in London. Alistair delivered a 12 week Business Enterprise Certificate, mentored MBA, MA and post-graduate business students and gained broad sector exposure to within the fashion, healthcare, lifestyle, Technology, hospitality and international trade industries.
Alistar is also involved in multiple charitable endeavors, including as an Ambassador at Wondering Warriors, which supports veterans of Australia’s Special Operations Command and their families transitioning from military to civilian life.
